Grzegorz Rasiak's goal condemned United to a 1-0 loss at Southampton on Saturday, dropping them to 23rd in the Championship table.
And although Nigel Adkins' men were widely expected to struggle this season, the slide down the table has been all the more disappointing after an impressive start to life in the second tier.
"We have been playing well all season without getting the results," insisted Crosby.
"We are a very young team, apart from myself obviously, and we must learn how to grind out results.
"We are in a difficult position points wise but we may have to start finding results to stay in this division.
"The team has to take its chances to get the wins and move up the table because we deserve to be higher up the league than we are.
"There's plenty more left from this group of players and we are confident we will be in the Championship come next season."
