Wharton said that receiving no opposition to the proposed share issue was `very pleasing` when questioned tonight by BBC Radio Humberside.

"I am delighted that it went through with no opposition whatsoever which was pleasing, i'm sure its right for the club," he said.

"It means a minimum of £350k coming into the club.

"I would hope that by the end of February we'll be putting the notices out to shareholders, so by early March we'll be getting the returns.

"The board are very supportive."

Although Wharton would not comment on where the money would go, considering it is thought the club are around £2million in debt he claimed that the money was vitally needed at Glanford Park.

"It'll mean that the football club has an extra £350K and
we'll be in a far stronger position," he added.
