Chairman confirms ground development

The news was announced in his annual report to shareholders, in which he praised the club's management and staff, and revealed that revenue was up.

He said: "(Safety officer) Alan Webster is overseeing the stadium improvements, beginning with the Grove Wharf Stand and hopefully the Study United Stand will follow in the very near future.

"It will include lift access to our restaurant facilities, and I am very aware that this is long overdue."

It is unclear exactly what the Study United redevelopment will include, but options include an extension to the Iron Bar and more office space as well as an increase in capacity.

The current redevelopment of the GWS stand - increasing toilet, first aid and catering capacity - is estimated to cost £160,000, with a grant of £65,000 expected towards this cost.

Wharton also declared that he would continue to push North Lincolnshire Council for assistance in securing new training facilities for the club.

A proposed Council-run leisure development close to Glanford Park was scrapped due to conflict with a landowner.

He added: "We continue to push for a site for new training facilities which can be used by the football club, school of excellence, ladies and football in the community.

"It is disappointing that they seem unable to support us in our quest to provide the community with such facilities, which are sadly lacking at the present time."

Iron-Bru.net will provide a review of the club finances for 04-05 as soon as we can deciphere them into plain English.
