Carruthers joins Macclesfield

Carruthers had verbally agreed to stay at Glanford Park for a further two years, but failed to turn up for close-season fitness tests on Thursday and told the club he had been offered more money elsewhere.

Today he signed for Macclesfield on a two year deal, after the Silkmen continued to pursue him even after he'd told Scunthorpe Uniited he was prepared to stay at Glanny Park.

The Silkmen have also signed David Flitcroft and Colin Little.
