He made his first appearance in Sunday's 2-1 League Two win over Hereford United at Blundell Park, but was at fault when he felled Ryan Purdie in the area to concede a spot-kick.
But he could be forgiven for being a bit rusty, as it was only his second competitive appearance of 2006 - his first being the 1-1 draw with Bristol City in January - having missed the latter part of last season with a knee injury.
"Hopefully the fans will react well to me even though I am coming from Scunthorpe," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
"I don't think I have done anything in the past to annoy them so I am hoping for a good reception.
"Hopefully I will get some games under my belt - that's what I've come for. It's all about getting my match sharpness back, that's what I need now to get back into it.
"You can play in the reserves for 90 minutes every week and still not be at the same level as the first team."
