The winger/striker was released by Gillingham at the end of last season, but admits a move to the Iron would be ideal as he attempts to get off the football scrap-heap.
The 18-year-old ex-Forest trainee told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "I've enjoyed it so far up here. It's been hard work because it has been pre-season, but it's the kind of work that will be of benefit to us when we get going properly.
"I do feel that I've got to work a little bit harder than the other players because essentially I am here to try and impress and show what I can do.
"I want to try and do more than the norm so that I stand out and make the manager think I am worth a full-time contract.
"Obviously I am hoping to win myself a full-time deal here, but for the moment I'm just taking each day as it comes and I'll wait and see what happens."
