The club said today that they are expecting a larger than average` crowd for the first local derby of the season, and have asked fans to arrive early to avoid crowd conestion.
The match is NOT all-ticket for home fans, but with over five thousand turning up for the fixture last season - and over eight thousand watching the play-off semi-final between the two sides - the club fear some fans would miss the kick-off if they get stuck in the crowd.
A large police presence is expected, in the wake of crowd trouble which marred the end of Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Spotland.
Safety officer Alan Webster told the club's official website: "I would ask supporters to arrive at the ground early to help ease congestion.
"Once in the ground by all means support your team but please do it in a safe and constructive manner."
