His agent, and chairman of his testimonial comittee, John Hendrie confirmed that an approach has been made to the player.
"Peter Beagrie has told Stuart that they are on the lookout for an experienced midfield player with his type of calibre," he said.
"There has been interest in Stuart from several clubs but I can categorically say, he hasn't spoken to Scunthorpe."
Beags is set to play for Bradford later this month in McCall's testimonial at Valley Parade.
Glasgow Rangers will make the trip down to Yorkshire to honour the 37-year-old (38 in June) who played for both clubs and earned international caps for with Scotland.
