The Tykes were beaten 3-0 at Reading on Saturday, and although all three goals came in the final stages Robins did not feel his side were hard done by.
"That was a shocking performance. We got exactly what we deserved and that was nothing," he said.
"We had a game plan but you couldn't tell. The players either don't listen or don't take any notice. We looked nervy and edgy and kept giving ball away.
"Away from home there's something that's not quite right yet but it's not formation or the personnel you put out on the field.
"We didn't pass the ball well enough and didn't get our strikers into the game. We really played into their hands. We are miles better than that. It's the worst game we have had without a shadow of a doubt."
