Baraclough nears new deal

The 36-year-old arrived at Glanford Park in June 2004, and has made 136 first-team appearances for the club.

And since November he has worked alongside captain Andy Crosby and youth team coach Tony Daws in a unique three-pronged team assisting manager Nigel Adkins.

Despite his off-field responsibilities and advancing years, he has played 26 times this season and is expecting to continue his role on the pitch next term after holding contract talks with club chairman Steve Wharton.

"The chairman says he wants me on the playing staff next season and that's something I'd like to carry on," Baraclough revealed
