"At the opposite end we have not passed the ball well enough though the conditions were getting more and more difficult as the pitch became more frosty.
"We have not hurt Coventry enough when we have got in behind them. We had an early chance and it might have been a different story if Michael O'Connor's early shot had not been well saved by their keeper.
"I can't fault my players for the effort they have put in but it is disappointing to lose again in front of our own fans. That is something we have to get right and all we can do is keep working hard to try and achieve it."
Aidy Boothroyd, the Coventry boss said his side had adapted to the icey pitch better.
"Conditions were getting difficult as the pitch became more frosty but we adapted ourselves much better," he said.
"Scunthorpe is always a difficult place to come and I think they are in a false position at the moment down near the foot of the table.
"I know their manager Ian Baraclough well and I am sure that he will soon start getting them climbing back up the table."
