The 21-year-old is wanted by a host of Championship clubs, with Norwich City the latest club to make an approach.
The Canaries are reported to have made a bid of £2.5million, with United willing to accept an offer of around £2m plus various add-ons.
Sharp's agent Imre Varadi, a former Scunthorpe player, says he will consider all his options.
"He is very happy at Scunthorpe but we will be having a look at the situation over the summer," he told the Norwich Evening News.
"There is a great deal of interest at the moment as you can imagine - it is a very exciting time for everyone concerned."
