Speaking in his post-match interview, Adkins said: "We can't dwell on this game too much and we have to keep believing we can stay up.
"There are still a lot of twists and turns between now and the end of the season, and there will be a lot of cup finals for us.
"We have just caught Hull in a rich vein of form and have been undone by two set pieces."
Adkins also revealed his players should have shown more passion towards the occassion.
"It should have been a more passionate game today.
"Full credit to Hull though - I thought they were magnificent, and they are well equipped to challenge for promotion."
