"We are confident we can get a result from it. The players' spirit is still high, the work ethic is still there, and it is a game which need to win.
"This time last season we would be six points away from staying up. As it is, the points total is going to move up.
The boss also revealed that the reason United are struggling is because the Championship is much tighter this season.
"44 points would have kept us up last season - so that just shows how much more difficult this season has been, and how tight the division has been.
"We have played our part in that, because we have competed in every single game we have played.
The 43-year-old admitted that the club has to keep the believe in order to avoid relegation.
"We have got to keep the belief that we can still achieve 'Mission: Impossible', which is to maintain Championship status."
