Adkins livid with match officials

The Scunthorpe boss struggled to bottle up his anger in his post match press conference, he told BBC Radio Humberside- "I'm livid about the whole situation. It wasn't a great game, hold your hands up to that."

"They're both wrong decisions, I've looked at the videos and am quite happy to talk about it.

Adkins deemed the sending off to be a disgraceful decision- "For the sending-off of Sparrow, their player Thomas hasn't controlled the ball and has lunged in. What is Matt Sparrow supposed to do? Let him go right through him? I'm sorry, I'm not having that."

He used the same word to describe the late penalty decision, that was not given by referee Jonothan Moss, but by his Hull-born assistant.

"Then at the very end there's a penalty that's not given by the referee because he can't see a thing. It's given by the linesman and he isn't sure. The referee says it's for shirt-pulling by Butler at the far post. He told me he couldn't see anything and the linesman gave it. He was almost apologetic.

"Please, oh please find something else to give it for. It's a disgraceful decision. All season it has gone against us. They say it evens itself out, so we're due a hell of a lot of decisions.

"But the referees aren't accountable. That's the annoying thing, but all they'll do is say sorry."
