Byrne was released this summer after nine seasons at Glanford Park, and despite needing another season to be eligible for a testimonial the club offered to stage a match in his honour.
Nigel Adkins, manager of the side that won the play-offs, will return to take charge of his former players, while Brian Laws, who signed Byrne for the club, will take charge of a representive side made up of other Iron players from the Irishman's spell in North Lincolnshire.
Garry Thompson, Grant McCann, Mark Jackson, Martyn Woolford, Cleveland Taylor, Matt Sparrow, Andy Dawson, Paul Musselwhite, Lee Ridley and Andy Butler have all confirmed their attendance.
The open day is at Glanford Park on Sunday July 29, the event opens at midday and the match will kick-off at 3pm.
