The Iron can move up to 5th in the table with a game in hand if they manage to overcome an Exeter side who were hammered 3-0 at home to Hartlepool whilst the Iron had last weekend off.
Brian Laws team go into the game looking to improve on their excellent record against the opposition, having chalked up an impressive 18 wins out of 25 previous matches.
The most recent encounter between these two sides at Glanford Park Stadium was just last season, in April 2012, the Iron carving out a narrow 1-0 victory in a League One match.
Iron boss Laws will welcome Christian Ribeiro back into the squad after injury ruled him out action for the last month- but Michael Collins and Eddie Nolan are still a couple of weeks away from a first team start.
There will also be a place in the squad for youngster Hakeeb Adelakun who continues to impress for the reserve and youth sides. Recent performances have stopped Laws dipping into the loan market and he is likely to get some first team action sooner rather than later.
Exeter boss Paul Tisdale is hoping his side can put last week's shock home defeat behind them with a positive performance at Glanford Park.
